Overfly is a hard rock band from Central Texas.  They arrived on the scene right behind the footsteps of the new millenium.  They can be best described as a touring band which played many shows in a short time frame in the early 2000s. Carrie Crane, the bass player, propelled Overfly with her invigorating songwriting and stage prescence.  Brian Weaks, lead vocalist and guitars, made his debut with Overfly as a back-up drummer.  David Cox carried the band with his guitar and crafty vocals.  During one rehearsal, Weaks and Cox switched roles and the band derived from the sound unleashed.  They came up with the band name from pointing out two random words in a dictionary which were "over" and "fly".  Once the words were combined, Overfly was born.  And so was their tour of Central Texas.  All three shared grunge, post-grunge era, and alternative rock influences such as Bush, Counting Crows, Oasis, and Nirvana.  They brought big sound to their usually small gigs which was a winning combinaton.  Overfly seized every opportunity to expand their fan base whether it meant playing for a bartender in an empty bar or playing in San Antonio at a wedding.  Overfly wanted more depth so they added a rhythm guitar player.  Crane suffered from several major health problems and was nearing a decision to take some time off.  Increased tension within the rest of the group lead Weaks to step away from the band.  Overfly went into hiatus.  It took Overfly a few years before they reunited to play a show in Copperas Cove, TX.  This would be their final show.  Approximately 10 years later, Weaks and Crane, toured under the name Line In The Sand.  They played 17 acoustic shows performing predominately original songs.  In early 2014, Louis Berry approached Weaks about getting a band together.   Weaks contacted Crane and Overfly was reborn.   Berry, became the new heartbeat by filling the drummer position.  Stephanie Weaks filled in on guitars.  They are currently rehearsing for their first studio album.  Overfly has dug deep into their archives and have revived their signature sound.  It is only a matter of time until Overfly plugs in and assumes their position on a stage near you!
